LUGO LIONS HOMEPAGE
Dear Students, Parents, and Staff,
The school year marches on and finds us almost halfway through the school year. Our student's progress is being measured by criterion-referenced tests (CRT'S) four times throughout the year: October 5-16, 2009, November 25-December 4, 2009, January 25-February 5, 2010, and March 15-26, 2010. These tests measure which grade-level standards students have mastered and which standards need to be reviewed. These grade-level tests will appear on the state STAR exam in May for grades 2-6. We have been successful for the past two years, and will increase student achievement to even a higher level this year.
HOW CAN PARENTS HELP? We are a partnership - the student, the parents, and the school. We can only achieve success by working together. Please help by:
Help our child be to school on time. The students line up at 8:25 and are on their way to class at 8:30 a.m. I
Send your child in uniform. This is District policy and reflects a commitment to the importance of a good education.
Listen to your child read, even if its only a few minutes. We all have busy lives, but your attention to your child's progress shows how much you care.
Review your child's homework, exams, projects with your child. Share in his/her success. Support your child in areas where he/she needs help. You are the greatest cheerleader for your child.
Our children's educational success is the most important task that parents and the school can have. Together we will accomplish great things.
Sincerely,
Susan L. Skornia
Principal
